That quote from the Catholic Encyclopedia was from me, showing how the Church regards suspicion even based on public rumour, as enough to begin an investigation. From what I have read, what is said against +Thuc is certainly more than a mere public rumour. I said this because people keep dismissing suspicion as if it means nothing in moral theology, when in fact, it means a great deal.
