If it’s medicinal, there’s no problem. Would you eat it as a snack?  Use it as a condiment?  If not, I see nothing amiss. If it is actually a food, then I’d limit it to my main meal and forgo it on Friday.

So there are two issues here, the abstinence issue and breaking the Lenten fast.

Some people chop up the liver into small pellets and freeze it, then swallow it with water instead of taking the capsules. Because it’s much cheaper.

So what would the difference be?
