  • In my previous life, before my reversion to the Catholic Faith, my favorite music genre used to be Norwegian and Ukrainian Black Metal. It is still a temptation for me to go back and listen to it, I loved it so much! Specially the melodic type of Black Metal. There are many Black Metal bands emerging which are not satanic, but supposedly Christian - themed.

What are your thought on that? Can I still listen to Christian Black Metal, that do not have the satanic lyrics?

  • It seems to me you already know the answer.

Why call your desire temptation if you think it is fine by Jesus Christ?

By definition Black Metal is demonic and in your heart you know it.

What is the definition of Black Metal? Sounds dark and depressing to me. Does it have melody, harmony and rhythm? Even Rock & Roll has these things, albeit in distorted proportions and in inverted order (rhythm first instead of rhythm last).
It's possible that "Christian Black Metal" is an oxymoron, since Christians have a hopeful outlook on life, what with their believing in Christ and the Resurrection.
