  • Charlemagne might have sinned in killing 4,000 Saxon men in cold blood at Verden, but at least back in the day men erred on the side of masculinity. Today they more often sin by softness, cowardice, effeminacy. All sin is evil and offends God, but it's double pathetic when a man's sins are more befitting a fallen daughter of Eve, rather than a fallen son of Adam.

    Christopher Lee portrays Charlemagne quite well in this Symphonic Metal song about the infamous Battle of Verden.
