Catholics Not Observing "Secular" Holidays

  • We don't observe certain secular holidays (4th of July, Memorial Day, Veterans Day, Cinco de Mayo, etc).  I have gotten a lot of flack from family for not doing so.

    Anyone having this issue?

    Don't be so scrupulous.  Enjoy these days with your family and friends.  Don't actually celebrate or have respect for the actual day, just enjoy time with family and friends.
