  • The Catholic teaching about ѕυιcιdє is that it is a mortal sin and the person who commits ѕυιcιdє is in danger of going to Hell. That being said, it is also recognized that many people who commit ѕυιcιdє do so as a result of mental illness. The mental illness would tend to mitigate the moral culpability of the person who committed ѕυιcιdє.
    Who is the one who is evil and who is the one who is confused? We don't know. Only God knows. Therefore I recommend that we pray for the eternal repose who have committed ѕυιcιdє.
