  • Can I still pray with a broken Rosary?

My rosaries keep getting broken, misplaced, lost...

It's probably the devil that wants to stop me from praying the Rosary because I have been feeling particularly slothful about it. Not to mention, there is always something coming up when I intend to do it.

    What can I do?  :scared2:

My rosaries break also. What usually happens is that one or more beads break and fall off. I use them and remember to pray the extra hail Marys where the beads are broken, until I get a new rosary. I read on the internet that because they are blessed you cannot throw broken rosaries in the garbage. You can bury them , though.

  • There are a lot of sites which instruct you on making rosaries. Fixing them is even easier. Get a pair of rosary pliars and a handful of eye hooks. Easy enough to fix. Lots on yootoob as well.

  • We repair them in our family.  On occasion people give us their old rosaries because they have been damaged too much to repair, we will take them completely apart and use the beads and medals to make new rosaries.  Its really not that hard to do.

It seems the broken Rosary is not the issue!  One can pray the Rosary on one's fingers.  If time is an issue, pray while driving, walking, riding the bus, subway, in the plane, etc.  Try to get the Rosary fixed.  If not, let your priest attend to its care.  Just pray!  Start off with one decade and see if Our Lady doesn't give the grace to finish if you persevere.  Take a small step of faith.
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

  • I did it!

Just prayed 5 decades of the Rosary  :dancing:

And feel much better now and relieved that I overcame the temptation.

  • I have a rosary on a string with a wooden cross. You should get one of them, instead of a chain one which breaks easlie
