Misreading the interior forum of an abused child.

I think it likely that you were abused, and never got help for it.

  • Did the anti-weed people stop smoking MJ for Lent and that’s why they are acting so psycho?

Misreading the interior forum of an abused child.

  Nobody can read or MIS-read the internal forum.  People can try to make inferences about another person's intentions based on their external behavior.  Internal forum pertains specifically in theology to whether a person is guilty before God, i.e. has the guilt of sin on their soul.  At best you can infer a POSSIBILITY or a LIKELIHOOD.

Your unhinged mutterings here are a continuation of your attempts to justify the Pharisaical behavior.

In the case of the "smoking" boys at Mass and the "sodomites", not only did you make a conclusion about the internal forum, but you didn't even have direct evidence in the external forum that the external activity actually occurred.

You smelled something that resembled the odor of marijuana on their clothes.  From that alone you judge them guilty of mortal sin and watched them to see if they have the audacity to approach Holy Communion.  On top of that, it's impossible to judge someone guilty of mortal sin for refraining from Holy Communion either.  There could be many reasons.  Here are some reasons I myself have not approached Holy Communion while not being conscious of mortal sin:  1) had already received earlier that day (when I had more time I often attended more than one Mass a day), 2) broke the fast (perhaps inadvertently or because I wasn't feeling well), 3) was feeling nauseous so that I was concerned about throwing up after Communion, 4) was feeling sick so didn't want to get close to other people at the rail and make them sick, 5) had gotten into a fight with my wife (that wasn't by itself mortal sin), without having had time yet to reconcile, but respecting Our Lord's teaching that if we have anything against our brother, to not present our offering but go reconcile first.  And there are probably other reasons that I have refrained even when I didn't think I was in a state of grave sin.

So, in the case of the boys.

You smelled MJ on their clothes and conclude that they're in mortal sin.  Let's look at all the gaps.
    1) you could have mistaken the smell for something else (it's not uncommon to mistake similar smells ... one time I was wondering if my son had used it but it turned out the smell was of some funky incense he was burning in his room that smelled very similar to it).  Could also have been some CBD type of concoction without THC.
    2) IF it was indeed MJ smell, you don't know that they themselves smoked it or were in the company of someone else who did
    3) You also don't know that both boys smoked it.  Could have been one of them while other just got the smell on his clothes.  And yet you judged them both guilty of mortal sin.
    4) Then you don't know if they smoked enough to lose control of their faculties, and thus be in mortal sin.
    5) If they did use enough to lose control of their faculties, you don't know whether they have some medical condition to justify it.
    6) If they did not use enough to lose control of their faculties, you don't know even that they're guilty of venial sin, since they may have had a proportionate reason.
    7) Maybe they don't know or think it's a mortal sin, and whether their ignorance is culpable, and therefore whether they committed mortal sin.

So you go from a "smell" to conclude mortal sin and just skip right over all the other logical steps above.

As for the "sodomites" at church.  What did you see?  Two guys that seemed to walk in together who were both effeminate in their mannerisms?  Or did you watch them sodomizing each other in their vehicle?  Effeminacy might make them suspect of having unnatural inclinations, but even then you don't now if they are resisting those inclinations.  Perhaps their presence at a Traditional Mass and praying the Holy Rosary might incline you to charitably suspect that they at least may be fighting their inclinations (if they had them).  There's nothing wrong with treating them as suspect, and therefore not letting your young son go alone on a camping trip with them, but you cannot judge them guilty of mortal sin and of being "sodomites" based on the very little that you know.

Instead of losing your marbles trying to justify what you did, please reflect on it and learn from it.

  • This is how Pharisees justify themselves.  So did you charitably admonish the pot smokers after Mass?  Did you charitably admonish the "sodomites" after Mass?  I didn't think so.  Nobody's defending sin.  It's all about the tone and the attitude and about whether you can judge the state of someone's soul from various outward appearances.  You're not rebuking in a spirit of charity; you're hurling stones from afar.  You need to seriously re-read all the teachings of the Lord about judging your brethren; he who is without sin should cast the first stone.  You are casting stones and not (as you pretend) engaging in the spiritual work of MERCY to admonish the sinner, no matter how hard you try to justify it and claim otherwise.  Rebuking the sinner doesn't require you to post an online rant condemning people of being in mortal sin, but rather that you gently admonish them ... if you believe that your words might make a difference.

This ranting and raving in self-justification is the clearest indication that you have been ensnared by the wicked spirit of Pharisaism, and I admonish you to repent before God withdraws His mercy from you and you are handed over to the "torturers" until you pay back every debt incurred by your own sins.

This particular attitude here turns a lot of people off to Traditional Catholicism and is a great scandal to the world.  We need to stop it at once.
Whoa Whoa Whoa, name calling people pharisees and other terms. Remember, judge not.

  • Burning leaves smells like marijuana. I know because I've smelled "pot smoke" on people's clothing, etc. and it reminded me of burning leaves.
And I know what burning leaves smells like. I live in the country and I've burned almost all my household trash and yard waste for about 14 years. And I did plenty of burning and campfires before that (both legal and illegal). I was a bit of a pyro when I was a kid.

What if the wind blew back on me while burning leaves or grass (it happens, even if you're careful!) then people will think I've been smoking pot?
    Ugh.

The saints always gave others the benefit of the doubt. They made EVERY EXCUSE to assume the other person was not in sin. The Pharisees did the opposite. 'Nuff said.

An excellent piece by Fr. Faber on taking scandal.  Enjoy:

No only will they (not think but) "know" that you were smoking pot, but they'll know that you were in mortal sin and will be watching you to see if you go to Holy Communion at Mass.

And thank you for reiterating the bolded above.  We are not the judges of other people in the internal forum.  We can judge bad behavior.  And even if a person DID something gravely sinful in the external forum, we always assume all the extenuating circuмstances that might apply (they were ignorant, weak, were not raised well, didn't receive the same graces we have, etc.).  That is why the saints all without exception considered themselves the greatest of sinners.  This was no mere feigned sanctimonious pious sentiment, but they really believed it.  And the only explanation for that is precisely that they gave their neighbor every benefit of the doubt.

We burn a lot of debris on our property. It does not smell like pot.

You are judging the internal forum of others. And so are all of the other pot supporters here. You are one of the self-appointed church fathers of cathinfo, and no one is allowed to go against your teachings.

Nonsense.  We're objecting your behavior and your posts, not the state of your souls, of which we have no knowledge.  That's a new one, that no one is allowed to go against my "teachings".  I'm debating various issues like everyone else here.

Not nonsense. You lord it over everyone here, and always have. Like a self-appointed Church Father, and no one is allowed to question you. Ever.

  • Glazed eyes, inability to walk straight along with pot smell.  Yes. They were stoned and didn’t want to be there.  The Church is packed. They came in after Mass had started.

Yep, two gαy guys.  Good looking single women looking to sit down and the two gαy guys didn’t offer them to sit down.  Young man reeking of weed stumbling in late to church and gαy guy quickly offers young man  to sit next to them.
