  • Is the book True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin the same book as True Devotion to Mary? If yes, then why are the book titles not exactly the same, even though it's the exact same content? It sort of confuses prospective readers / buyers who want to read it, but are stumbled as to "which book to buy or read first".

He also wrote The Secret of Mary. So both "True Devotion..." book tiiles are exactly the same book?

  • I think both 'True Devotion' books are essentially the same, just edited differently.  Some publishers' editions include all the suggested readings.
What return shall I make to the Lord for all the things that He hath given unto me?

  • He wrote another book as well & many hymns. I have read True Devotion to Mary & Secret of the Rosary, and they have been two books of the highest spiritual profit.

The Secret of Mary is an abridged version of True Devotion. I recommend Fr. Faber's translation of True Devotion found here:

  • You just have to put "duhbba you duhbba you duhbba you" before the links above. :) I'm not sure why they won't work unless Matthew turned off hyperlinks.
