  • According to at least two websites Bishop Williamson's visit to Australia from December 12th to 26th, 2013 is not going ahead. It seems that visa snags have been encountered. His traveling companion for this tour, Fr F. Chazal, has gone ahead alone to that country. Both have EU passports so, ideally, the same regulations should apply equally to both.

  • I am not the OP.

Here is the message I got: (emphasis in the original)

    Quote
    Dear friends,

As you might have heard, Bp Williamson encountered a few problems with his visas both for Australia and India while he was on his way.

The visa for Australia was not denied, but there was no prompt decision made by the authorities, as it was necessary.

Unfortunately the visa for India needs to be arranged from England. Something unusual as far as I know.

It is with much regret, therefore, that His Excellency has finally decided to cancel, or postpone, all of his planned visit to Australia.

It has been decided, consequently, to re-program some aspects of the visit, which is now going to be carried out only by Fr. Chazal.

Please advise those you would have told about the visit as soon as possible, and if you do not mind still provide RSVPs to have an idea about numbers

My apologies for the inconvenience, and thank you for your patience in spite of the comings and goings. It has been a somewhat complex situation.

    God bless you,

There was to have been Confirmations and there were folk, I believe, who were preparing for that.

For locations of Masses offered by Fr Chazal see details on http://cor-mariae./board/74/announcements-forum-information-links

No, it was his guardian angel.

The Jєωs wanted to place +Williamson on a holographic airplane that would have flown into a skyscraper. Later on a laser beam would dissolve the skyscraper.

And who's the largest investor in HoloAirBus Technologies? You guessed it, Max Krah.

Trust me I read it on the internet.  :scared2: :tinfoil: :scared2:

    I wondered that too.
Stir up within Thy Church, we beseech Thee, O Lord, the Spirit with which blessed Josaphat, Thy Martyr and Bishop, was filled, when he laid down his life for his sheep: so that, through his intercession, we too may be moved and strengthen by the same Spir

Well you may be correct here. Ask a seafarer and he will tell you that Australia and India ( and most other countries) issue visas (albeit sometimes short-term ones only) via their embassies in third countries for entry into their countries. Normally  5-7 working days suffices.

  • I thought the Australian visitors visa for a British passport holder was full electronic nowadays.

    Yep

Of course being a bishop perhaps he can't travel there as a tourist and has to get some type of religious visa, but I doubt that unless he is going to stay there more than 90 days.

Perhaps his British flock want him to spend Christmas and the New Year with them....

  • In 2005 Bishop de Mallerais also experienced "visa snags" when attempting to travel to India to administer Confirmation. Confirmation at two venues were cancelled and even though he did arrive a few days later, having obtained a visa ....., the two centers did not obtain redress due to his busy pre-planned schedule. The affected faithful were informed quite late in the day. The priest co-ordinating the trip was the same Fr Chazal.

  •  :confused1:It's Fr. Chazal's fault that Australia won't grant Bp. Williamson a VISA?  Huh?
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

..........We were informed that Bishop Williamson has gone back to England to wait for one month, which is what the Australian government has decreed.
He has not been given any reason for this delay, so he will wait out the month and apply again. If he is refused he will ask for the legal reason why the granting of his visa is being delayed. He has to go to India - so it is a bit tight for him.
