Bishop Roy's Imperfect Council
« on: Yesterday at 10:00:31 PM »
Just curious what the general consensus is amongst people on Bishop Roy's proposal.

Note: Please read the website or listen to his interviews and understand the nuances, don't assume it's some conclavist scheme or that he fancies himself as the next "Pope" in a garage conclave.

I really like the idea of everyone coming together and talking about things. I am not sure about eventually electing a Pope (which shouldn’t even be a discussion point right now since it’s so far down the line) because I am not sure about the status of the Vatican II Popes themselves.

I say vote according to the whole process, not regarding just the council itself, because there can be no such council until the preliminaries deem it a good thing to do.

it is a worthy effort to get all traditional Bishops and clergy together to come to a common understanding, and maybe even learn something that they did not consider or even change their position. But you have to start somewhere, and this is at least a start.
