  • You are in circles!  The Lawyer knows more than you?!  How did he know to contact you?  You have no picture of your dad!?  Are you a troll?  A man becomes a priest for 2 reasons: in youth a calling and those who have much to be sorrowful for become priest and are like hermits.  You don't mention if "dad" is widow.  The story is strange to say the least.  It is almost obvious he is no priest and no bishop.
If you see above you will see that it has been almost 20 years since seeing or hearing from my dad. So to answer your question, no, I am not a troll. We had no idea that our dad was in WI for years, let alone KY. Mr. Payne contacted the attorney, as he was not sure about making arrangements. Per the state of KY, family needed to be reached and thats how the attorney searched and got hold of us. The marriage between my mom and dad was annulled in the Church many years ago, so he was cleared to become a priest if he chose.

  • Who annulled?  Dioceses? For what reasons?

Was annulled by either diocese of Trenton or Metuchen 15-20 years ago. I am sorry I don't know all the details, but I do know that this allowed my mom to re-marry in the Church.

  • Well, if it was dioceses, chances may be that your dad was not available to marry Christ's church.  His chances of being priest/bishop are questionable.  You have no pictures? Very strange.  Your mom is not living, I take it. You have other siblings, and they have no pictures?

  • Regardless of what anyone thinks of Bishop Dymek, whether his ordination/consecration was appropriate or valid, or whether he was a good candidate or whatever, his actions and history aren't the fault of his children who haven't seen him in 20 years and won't be seeing him anytime soon.  Harping on these children just isn't appropriate at this time on this topic.

Thank you. We never knew our dad was a priest or a bishop until the other day. We have pictures of him when we were kids (just saw a picture the other day of our Baptism and our First Communion). We have no pictures of him as a priest or bishop, and thats what we were hoping to find.

  • It appears that the service for Bishop Dymek will be at 10AM on Thursday, 5/11, at St. John the Baptist in Louisville. Arrangements are being made through Highlands Funeral Home.  Dad actually passed away on Friday, 4/28.

  • Yes, a very puzzling story.  How could the marriage be annulled, if there were living children from a consummated marriage? Wouldn't he owe his efforts to raise his children? Abandonment of one's own children must be a mortal sin of the highest order.

I hope the children pursue their own salvation. Doesn't seem like a good thing to dote on this history.

  • Thank You for the WARNING that Ramolla is state side.  Seminarians from from Brookville can be ordained by Sanborn or Dolan.  Some say it maybe a toss of a coin or what "looks" best.  Ramolla "played" principal for SGG.  And then Ramolla put on a show at Albert the Great.  A show to make a seminary and OH, after the $$ comes, it doesn't work.  Imagine that.  I know a private priest who knows of the horror and I will NOT give him away, he to was treated bad.  Thomas Droleskey was a part of the fun!  A married man, made a priest and there is talk he is a bishop, go figure.  But of course who wants to take this post beyond.
Does that mean Ramolla just took in the money that was intended for making a seminary but then didn't make one? Wow, how did he become a priest and then a bishop. Could you explain that.

  • Well, Bp. Dolan ordained him and Bp. Dymek consecrated him. Bp. Dymek was consecrated by Bp. Slupski who was known to ordain married and unfit for priesthood men. That is why Bp. Ramolla dissociated himself from Bp. Slupski.

  • I have just read this post from go to woah. I am so sad to hear of your father's death and what must be a great loss over the years of his absence from your lives. I will pray for your father and for you.

  • I have a general question regarding this topic. When Bp. Slupski consecrated Bp. Dymek, he did not know or care that there were children being left behind/ abandoned? I know that I am going to get blasted for what I am about to write, but it seems to me that the Thuc Bishops are a strange breed of men, to say the least.
