  • I had a headache yesterday that I believe might have been a withdrawal headache.

What is interesting is that it took a long time before I had it.

What is nice is that I now feel quite calm and optimistic.

  • Have you been substituting with anything?

It isn't the caffeine, but I feel like something is missing when I don't have a morning coffee. You?

I've drunk some tea from time to time.

However, I don't drink nearly as much as I did coffee.

    My stomach was really hurting.

  • Are you quitting for good?

Grain beverages can work as a substitute, unless you're particular about flavor. For me, it's mostly the colour and consistency that I need in a substitute.

I intend to.  Since in the past when I've tried to be moderate about it I've gone back to drinking 5 cups or more a day.

    I don't really need a substitute.  I've had a life-time's worth of coffee.

  • When you came off coffee, you said you felt calm and optimistic.  Optimistic is what I am wondering about.  Are you saying, you were feeling down/depressed maybe when on coffee?  How much did you drink in a day?

I had constant stomach pain and lots of abdominal tension.  The optimism was more coincidental, imo.  I would typical drink at least 4 cups.

  • I drink a lot of coffee. At least four cups a day when I have some. I haven't noticed any negative effects.
