We are not talking about him making his own decisions for himself...we are talking about him making decisions for a helpless child that he thinks he's qualified to adapt regardless of his age and. according to him, not so stellar upbringing.
I won't adopt tomorrow or in the next two years. 5-7 years from now likely. I need to find where I want to base my life permanently and move there first.
Less than stellar upbringing has nothing to do with how I treat kids. I treat them how I would've liked to be treated as a kid. Since I'm closer to child age than middle age you'd think I'd be better at that. From experience I am.
Also, if I need help with a serious decision regarding a child, why don't I ask other parents? I'm good friends with many parents of children older than me.
