Quote from the late Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen:

“Who is going to save our Church? Not our Bishops, not our priests and religious. It is up to the people. You have the minds, the eyes, the ears to save the Church. Your mission is to see that your priests act like priests, your bishops like bishops and your religious act like religious”

  •   People we have our own ideas do not always quote.
God gave us life, that we may live it and bear good
fruit. Let us be in unity with Christ and peace ! Amen !

  • Archbishop Sheen was a brilliant leader in the Catholic faith and a very holy man.  I was raised on his teachings and sermons.  I found a couple books on line that I am sure will be very helpful with the Lenten season coming quickly.  The "Life of Christ" and "Way to Inner Peace".  Are there any other readings of Archbishop Sheen that people have read or DVD that have been watched that they have found inspiring?  Please share.

  • His tv shows were certainly marvels of erudition, a Catholic source that wasn't available in the secular media of the time.  However, over the course of maybe five or ten years I have seen several things that would seem to indicate he was not as perfect as he appeared.  I won't go  in to it, because a lot of the comments seemed to have disappeared which could mean that they are entirely false and have been withdrawn, or that they have been "disappeared" for other reasons.  The most comprehensive exhibit of the information was on an SSPX/Asia website. There is still an article on the Bishop, but it has been totally reversed as to its appraisal of the man.

I thought I had saved this to a computer file, or could find it on Wayback, but now it seems to be gone.  I'll continue to search, my computer and my paper files.  If I can find it, I will pass it along.
