She’s over a year in age? It sounds like she’s got you well-trained to drop everything immediately and do your bidding. If she’s your Marine drill sergeant, you run to her, salute, and reply at the top of your lungs, “Ma’am, Yes, Ma’am!”
If her cry is one of agonizing pain and fright, run immediately and skip the military protocol.
In all other circuмstances, give her a few toys in a play pen or enclosed area and let her cry herself out or give it up to play, fall asleep, or throw the toys out of reach and throw a verbal hissy-fit as you go about your work. You might want to play some lively music for both of you to sing and dance to as you work/play. Whichever tactic you use, remember, YOU are the DS, not your daughter. If she cries the whole time, ignore it so long as she’s not sick or in pain. YOU run the household, not your child, no matter how long she wants to complain about it. If you hand her the reigns at 15 mos., imagine how she’ll be at 15 years!
