  • Okay, so it seems that the Novus Ordo has been giving out many bogus annulments since Vatican II. If you get a bogus annulment and remarry, do you sin every time you engage in the marital act, as you would if you didn't get an annulment, or does the belief that you have an annulment, even though it is bogus, free you from sin?

An annulment is bogus if it declares that a valid marriage never existed. Because of the vast differences in the number of annulments granted before and after Vatican II, it seems that many valid marriages are being declared null by the Novus Ordo tribunals.

Maybe you could consult with a trad priest about the first marriage/grounds for annulment and then go from there.

By "bogus annulment" do you mean that somebody lied in order to get the annulment?

Hate to burst your bubble by overwhelmingly most annulments are for marriages that were outside the church (by a judge, next to a lake, on a beach).  Without a proper dispensation these marriages may be natural but they are not sacramental.

Also, Newchurch allows people to marry who should not and were never allowed to prior to V2.  For instance, someone cannot marry their baptismal or confirmation sponsor.  I know for a fact Newchurch allows this because I was in this predicament.  The marriage was annuled.  We didn't know but the priest had a duty to not marry us because he knew the relationship was forbidden.

Newchurch also allows marriages when a history of sodomy exists or other psychosɛҳuąƖ problem and because of the FOCUS test nobody can claim they didn't know.    These unions are clearly not a sacrament.

The Catholic Church used to have a tight standard for declaring a marriage null.

Now they don't.  They allow all sorts of excuses and claim they are "proof" that a marriage isn't valid.

    It's Catholic divorce.

It's allowed because the Novus Ordo is a different religion.

  • It's true that the standards have changed but can anyone really deny that the NO doesn't do a good job of denying the sacrament when they should?  Like letting bisɛҳuąƖs marry....that was ALWAYS forbidden.  Swinging is practically a norm in mainstream American culture.

How about refusing to allow marriage of those who carry known genetic disorders?  Or men who are grossly overweight and diabetic who have ED?  Or someone who lost both legs in an accident.  The Traditional Church would NEVER have allowed marriage in those cases but the Novus Ordo let's anyone with the $$$ to get married.
