    • Jackson hated the idea of the federal government being involved in banking anyway (hence his veto of the renewal of the Second National Bank's charter).

    Whatever the rights and wrongs of his, or Harriet Tubman's being on the note, it's always struck me as rather ironic he was there in the first place.

    • I'm sure Harriet Tubman was a better person than any president we've ever had. But they're only doing it to make a statement. Soon they'll put trees, or tigers, or clouds on our money. I think they ought to put cartoon characters on our money. But I'm very serious about that first bit. If there's going to be a woman on our money, it may as well be a good person and not some feminist or thief.

    • I m delighted that anyone would replace Andrew Jackson. Tubman is at worst an unobjectionable choice to anyone who would not object to any back person on anything.
