Cold water anti-depressant

It's beneficial, especially at beginning, before one is acclimated.

I've overdone it in the past, counting relatively slowly to 300 and sometimes even to 600 under a cold shower.

That being said, I recommend it as a way to "snap out" of a debilitating mood.

Interesting. I'm curious if there are studies researching this...

At first I thought you were talking about drinking river water--eeeech! (the pollutants) Not dunking myself in icewater anytime soon, thanks. It probably works as an antidepressant because you are so happy when it is over with...

Brrrrrrrr!! That gives me the shivers just thinking about it. I'm sure one would feel very refreshed after it was over with, though.

I remember seeing something on TV where somewhere in northern europe people walk out from the sauna and jump into an iced river/ pond (literally with snow outside!)!
