I said "If they were really Muslims" which means they believe in the Muslim religion instead of having the true faith. All who die without the true faith are damned. We do not need a special revelation to know that.

St. Alphonsus says: “See also the special love which God has shown you in bringing you into life in a Christian country, and in the bosom of the Catholic or true Church.  How many are born among the pagans, among the Jews, among the Mohometans and heretics, and all are lost.”

Notice how he says they are all lost, even though he believed in baptism of desire. It is normal to assume that all heretics or schismatics or pagans are damned and speak in such terms even if there is a tiny chance that they might be saved by baptism of desire.

I don't think they died for their religion at all. As more news articles surface, it seems that the shooting happened over a parking dispute and not a hate crime, but it's being disputed.

The murder of anyone is sad.  Brendan Tevlin was murdered by Muslim and yet it never received media coverage. And yet president Obama will use the murder of Muslims to increase
Persecution of Christians in our own country.
