It's that time again!

We have a lot of new members, and it helps to put a face with a name -- hmm...maybe not a face, but at least a "profile" of sorts!

Otherwise it can be hard to keep track of everybody.

Here is a link to the last time we did this:

Enjoy!

I'll go first --

I am 30 years old, married, with a 16 month old son (Dominic) and a daughter (Miriam) that will be born in a few days. We live in south Texas, where I try to grow as many vegetables/fruits as my small backyard will allow.

I was raised traditional Catholic, attending a small independent chapel from birth. The priest there was/is a Redemptorist who was ordained in 1961, and never said the New Mass.

I enjoy singing, Gregorian chant, classical music, writing, discussing important issues, gardening, running Cathinfo, and many other things.

I work as a web programmer for a couple of clients, and I sell Gregorian chant CDs and Catholic books at www.chantcd.com
My wife is a stay-at-home mom.

I am from northern Illinois, so I still miss the snow every Texas "winter". My mom, as well as my siblings -- 2 sisters and 1 brother -- still live in Illinois. My dad entered into Eternity a month ago.

If I had to pick the greatest influence on my current lifestyle, it would be the 3 1/3 years I spent at a traditional (SSPX) seminary trying out a priestly vocation.

In Christ,

Matthew

Ok, here's a brief profile of me.

I am 36 years old. I live in Southern California. I was born in Lebanon but left when I was 2 years old because of the civil war between the Muslims and Christians. I was consquently raised in Saudi Arabia, England, and Belgium. I came to the United States in 1984.

I am a Maronite Catholic but only went to the Novus Ordo Mass all my life (that is when I would go to Mass -which wasn't that often since I wasn't raised strongly in the Catholic faith).

I was introduced to traditional Catholicism by Mike Solimanto about 6 years ago (he made a response on EWTN against the error of an "expert" there and I e-mailed him to get more info. about the topic and continued to e-mail him after that). I now alternate between going to the SSPX chapel for Mass and independent chapels. If I am too tired to get to a TLM, I reluctantly end up going to the more conservative of the N.O. Masses in town (during which time  I read from the traditional prayers of the TLM and only look up during the consecration)

I have been taking care of my 95 year old grandmother for 5 years now - day and night shift - and I only get 1 day off a year. You can't imagine the extreme mental and physical fatigue this entails. My body's aged beyond it's years and I'm suffering from depression. I'm sooooooooooooo unbelievably tired.

Granny and I live with my parents (I wish I could move out but, since I take care of Granny, I can't). My two brothers  also live with us. My sister used to live with us until she got married 4 years ago and moved to France.

I have no desire to ever get married and I don't want to become a nun, so I don't know what God has in store for me in the future.

Anyway, that's the short of it.

My name is Eamon Patrick Shea. I live in West Chester, Ohio, just north of Cincinnati. The Mass center I frequent is Saint Gertrude the Great (Bp. Dolan and Fr. Cekada).

I am 33 years of age, having been born in 1973, on the 24th of September. My 'native' state (since age 1 and 1/2) is Florida, and my hometown is Ponte Vedra Beach (outside Jacksonville, just north of St. Augustine, our Nation's oldest city). My mother still lives in my hometown, my older sister is attending medical school in Maryland, and my older brother is an architect in the Orlando area. He is married and has one child (born about six months ago).

I graduated (as my siblings also did) from the University of Notre Dame du Lac, located in northern Indiana, receiving a B.A. degree in English Literature in August 1996. I attended Most Holy Trinity Seminary from September 1999 until February 2002, leaving due to lack of priestly vocation. While there I completed the philosophical training, although I had only just begun the theological courses when I departed. I am presently pursuing an M.A. through the Universite de Nancy, located in Nancy, France.

My poor family is ensnared in NewChurch, and I ask your prayers for their conversion. I have been blessed with countless graces and advantages in my life, especially since (and including) realizing what is happening in this poor world - particularly with respect to our holy mother, the Church.

God bless and keep each of you, today and always.

In the Immaculate Heart of our Sorrowful Mother,

Eamon Shea

My name is Joseph. I wont give my last name. Im 16 years old, I live in South East Texas and attend mass at St.Michals SSPX Chapel in Spring, which is a 100 mile drive from where I live.

I was born and raised in a conservative novus-ordo church and because I didnt learn anything in first communion class (the teacher was a dope) I was taght a Traditionalist catichism. That didnt stop me from falling into almost every heresy in the book. With three lax priests who just want to get the 30minute sermon over and done with and no spiritual guidance I turned to Luther and Calvin at the age of ten. That all changed when one of the priests decided to stand up to some of the errors being preached by the other three priests. Thanks Fr.Brenda! My family and I converted to the true mass about four years ago. Its uphill from here on.

Im a homeschooler in the 10th grade. I am of Leonese-Spanish (my mothers side) and Tyrol-Austrian blood. I hope to attend and graduate from college and become an architect. After I get a job in architecture I'll get married and have a family and raise about 8 or 10 little soldiers for God. :baby:> :duel:

For now Im just a 10th grader, shut up in a mobile home in the country, a hundred miles from family and friend, waiting for the day I get my drivers license and first car.

Im also a yellow-stripe in Taekwondo. I also practice a little bit of Northern Soulin, Tiger style Kungfu and Japanese Kendo. I enjoy the martial arts and swordsmanship. Some of my old friends say Im a Satanist or a Buhddist for practicing the martial arts. Before I studied into it I used to think so to. On the contrary, I found that if you practice Kungfu and throw out pagan devotion and replace it with that of a Catholic you will iprove yourself not only physically but spiritually as well. Its good penance too, believe me!

I enjoy discussing philosophy, theology, history, martial arts, anything about Spain, and the crisis in the church.

Yours in Christ

Link to last intro

I am a convert to Catholicism for almost 2 years and hope soon to be confirmed, and also to enter College with the credit I hope to get from activities abroad, if all goes well, which is due next year. I have not yet decided what to do for a career, but I'm leaning towards Real Estate and or Property management.
I was born and raised in the Baptist Church, believing that the Church was evil and oppressive, as all misguided Protestants do, and then went to various other Protestant denominations for a few years before encountering Catholicism in 2004.
I study the Catholic Church, particularly its history, not only as a hobbie, but also for education purposes, and also Catholic social teaching, such as economics, including Distributism. I like to read, study, pray, and write.

Pax tecum!  Let me introduce myself here.

I’m Filipina Chinese who was born in Pasay City, Philippines.  My parents are both Catholics and were married in Siniloan Catholic Church, Laguna, 32 years ago.  Baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Church, I lived in Luzon all the way till late 2003 as my mother decided to migrate in Mindanao for the Moslems.  (Click here how I survived living in Mindanao)

Among my favorites are the Indian curry dish, the mango fruit, the color lavender, and the country France.  Also, I’m an animal, music, and nature lover.

The youngest of the kids comprising of 2 boys and 4 girls, I was almost 5 years of age when we became vegetarians save for my father.  I was home schooled by my mother due to financial problems but in college I was enrolled in Thomson Education Direct and took up Professional Secretary course.

On May 2001, I was converted together with my siblings to Catholic Tradition by my mother.  Although at first I wasn’t at ease with the Latin Tridentine Mass, I fell in love with it gradually.  I came to treasure the Catholic Mass and realized I would definitely not look back to hear a Novus Ordo Mass anymore.

My upbringing was one of a kind.  It was my mother who taught me everything and I owe a lot from her if ever I am this strong.  I am who I am because she reared me with a love of God and self discipline which ─ I know ─ she succeeded to imbibe it in me.  I am firm in my Catholic faith because of her introducing me to the SSPX.  And whenever it is a deemed to do so, I came to defend the SSPX stand.  Frankly, it’s not easy fighting/quarrelling with my mother given the fact that she was a former secretary of the CBCP (Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines).  Yes, my mother is still not completely converted.  Nonetheless, I still and will forever love her.  I know that next to God and the Blessed Virgin Mary, she’d always occupy a special place in my heart.

Anyways, I have plans to try a religious life and become an SSPX sister one day.  I already told my parents about this but it always resulted to a scandalous argument.  They reasoned out that I am a vegetarian plus still too young(?)  and should explore the world(?!)  first.  Even the persuasion of traditional friends and priests wouldn’t convince them so I decided to keep quiet.  I simply told them that I want to get a job now but again, they declined it saying I must wait.  So at the moment I’m staying home trying to be as good and obedient girl as I could be.

Oh well, my intention in joining here is because I needed to be armed with people like you.  I need (if possible) your advice and guidance about my life’s too many questions.  Till then, please pray for me!

By the way, I’m 20 years old.

I almost forgot!  Big THANKS goes to gladius_veritatis for helping me over with the registering!  Million thanks, Patrick!  And also for ChantCD for responding very promptly.  Thanks to you, Matthew!

I am,
Joan Scholastica

I'd just like to introduce myself briefly. I'm Mark, raised in a very liberal "catholic" environment. I realised my errors after a very sinful college experience and have to tried to live my life since following Our Blessed Lord and not forgetting the sins of my adolescence. I go only to SSPX or independent Masses. I'm 31, unmarried. I am trying to discern whether I am called to chastity. I live in London.

I hope I'll have toime to contribute on this forum and also would love to be in touch with anyone else from my neck of the woods.

Hi everyone. Thanks for the warm welcome.
I am Kerwin Ferrer. I was born and raised by my parents in Antipolo City, in the province of Rizal. I came to know about the latin mass in 1998, just after the Ordination of the First Filipino SSPX priest, Fr. Joven Soliman. The name of the Church in Manila is " Our Lady of Victories Church" The title is a very ancient one, related to Our Lady of the Rosary for the Victory of Lepanto. At that time, the Disrict Office was still in Manila, together with the St. Bernard Noviciate, until the two moved to Singapore and Sta. Barbara, Iloilo respectively.

At first, I was not able to understand why I needed to attend this Mass. I was just attending it just because my Auntie was inviting me, plus my friends are also coming there. Then, I was able to attend the Sto. Niño Catechism, where I was able to learn about God and meet new friends. After a few months, I was invited to serve Mass, that is as a Torchbearer. I loved serving the Mass. Then I became a member of the "Archconfraternity of St. Stephen" (a guild of altar servers) and the "Los Cristeros the Manila" (a youth group which got its name from the Martyrs during the Mexican Revolution).

As of now, I'm still studying (hopefully I will graduate this March)
And at the same time, I am working at the Church Office as a Computer Secretary. I serve the mass regularly. And every Sunday, I teach Catechism.

I hope I'll learn more from this Catholic forum.

Not trying to say anything, Joan. I am just asking a question, and almost anyone here can testify that I say what I mean and mean what I say. So it is a question, straight and simple. I ask because I have heard some things and was wondering if it is true.

Thanks, Joan. Now all I have to figure out is what to make of it. I have also read that the Phillipines are heavily Catholic and have areas where white people don't live long if they are so foolish to venture there. Best I can figure at this point is that they are more religious than most people in this unbelieving world.
