I have come to the painful conclusion that pulling is about the only solution EXCEPT poison sumac, oak or ivy.

If you got a young goat you would never see poison ivy again.

I agree -- I dislike the store generally.
About the only reason I ever go there is price. Their customer service -- if you can call it that -- reeks. There are many moral problems with Wal-mart as well.
If everyone supported Wal-mart no more than I did, they wouldn't be very rich, that's for sure. How often do you need a 40 lb. bag of salt? And how much could they possibly be making on that bag?

Matthew might actually be causing them to lose money. The 40lb bag of softening salt might be a loss leader for them. Large supermarkets will often lose money on items to encourage you to do all the rest of your shopping there.
If you are disciplined about it, they are losing money on you as a shopper not making a profit at all.
Several years ago I used to buy large qualtities of vegetable oil from supermarkets and I ran a Citroen Xantia family car on it because it was much cheaper than Diesel fuel (less than half the price). You got about the same gas mileage from it. It smelt nicer too, like a chip shop when it was idling and ran slightly quieter. While driving you could not smell anything. Just when it was hot and idling.
Did about 20,000 miles in it over 2 years. Probably saved $1500.
Today veg oil costs 50% more than diesel and 400% of what it cost in 2006. Hard to see how they were not losing money back then.
