I have a pm waiting that I cannot read.

Can you change the settings on the board so that you are not restricted from reading or responding to a pm someone sends you, just because you are a new member?

Perhaps you could set it so that you can't initiate a pm until you are "established," instead?

How many posts make one an "established member"?

I manually set your join date a few days back -- now you can access the PM system.

It's an anti-spammer measure. Otherwise a spammer could join the forum and without any delay PM hundreds or thousands of members. No thanks!

By the time the X days passes, they will have moved on and forgotten about CathInfo. That's the idea.
