  • Not that I want to use it.

If a post were really that bad, it most likely should be reported.
    Lord have mercy.

  • If you click on the red hide button that person's posts will be hidden (unless they are quoted by someone else).  If you decide to view them again you can click on the green button that says "View".

  • Thank you, so it is like the IGNORE feature on some other boards.

Correct.  Although I think on most other boards there is a place in your own profile to choose the poster names you want to ignore.  Here I think you have to use the red button.

    Yes.
IGNORE was too many letters for the little button. : )

  •  :laugh1:  I think the  HIDE button is better than having to go to the UserCP.

  • .

At the bottom of each post you can see "Ignored by" followed by "0" - it was not always that way.  About a year or two ago, when that feature was still active, the number of members who had put the poster on "hide" was tallied and reported there for each of his posts.  But Matthew disabled the feature because it was using up power resources in the platform and it wasn't really accomplishing anything.  So he turned it off to make CathInfo more efficient.

There is at least one member who seems to miss the feature, because it lists those members being ignored in the signature area at the bottom of each post.
