Lately I've been listening to some classical Indian music, which inspired me to experiment with modal music. This is a pretty 'free form' tune I recorded this evening - akin to the Indian form alap - in the mixolydian mode (raga khamaj), using D as the tonic.

I am just an amateur artist and love to study the Old Masters....this is one I just completed. I also recently completed a black and white portrait of GK Chesterton.
