Charity means wishing somebody good. A love between a man and a woman is charity+ mutual attraction IMO. But what happens when people are madly in love? To the point that they are blind to dangers, can't reason, and are ready to do even harmful and inhuman things just to be with one another?
It is not charity because it damages. And the point that mad love can happen both to the celibate and the polygamist shows that the cause can't be ''an unsatisfied thirst for carnal desires".
-a boy writes a girl's name on his skin by a sharp knife, blood flows.....
-a girl kills her parents because they object to her love.
-a mother kills her child as the child was disturbing her and her lover's calmness.
-men and women escape from their Countries and illegally immigrate to a war-stricken one, just because they can be united with their love there.
What is the cause of madness in love?

What you have described is, in fact, not love at all. It sounds more like teenage inspired infatuation and obsession.

Love is total self giving to another. Lust, infatuation etc seeks its own pleasure and reward. The "butterflies in the stomach" feeling lasts only so long. After that, real love endures.

One of the sad traits of our society is confusing immature, teenager infatuation and "feelings" with love. The reasons? I chalk it up to overall lack of maturity in so-called adults which trickles down to the next generation.

I've been married for over 12 years, since my early 20s and have 5 children. Believe me, feelings doesn't get you up in the morning to fulfill your state in life and continue to battle on through this vale of tears. Life, marriage and fatherhood are beautiful blessings; but it is love (charity) that makes it possible.

But I don't think it is lust. Why should a man do harmful things in order to get a certain woman while there are many other ladies available? He can have his lust without having to suffer.
