I'd be wary of anything in American or British newspapers regarding Persia. We all know who runs these newspapers. The Zionist Entity has wanted to attack Persia for years now, & it seems that they are finally getting round to doing so, if the intensive propaganda campaign is any indication.
Calumny is one of the Jews' favourite weapons. During WWI the British newspapers engaged in vicious calumny against the Imperial German Army, accusing German soldiers of bayoneting babies, massacring the Belgian civilians wholesale, & all sorts of other things.
It just goes to show that newspapers are often not credible. As for the Persians themselves giving press releases which speak of the various weapons they've issued, that would most probably be an effort to deter the military forces of the zionist entity, they're trying to use the old doctrine of mutually assured destruction, though I don't know how effective this will be in light of the Jews' world renowned arrogance.
