To understand the philosophy Mr. Bush was converted to during his Presidency which lead to profound hatred overseas, a mountain of debt, jobs being shipped overseas, and America turning into a Tower of Babel of races we should first look at the history of neoconservatism.
The first generation of neoconservatives were former Trotskyites, socialists, leftists, and liberals who backed FDR, Truman, JFK, and LBJ. They basically burn their little incense sticks at the altars of Wilson, FDR, and JFK. When the Democratic Party was captured by McGovern in 1972 on a platform of cutting defense and "Come Home America!" these Cold War liberals felt isolated and ignored in their own party. Adrift they rafted over to the Republican Party, and were pulled aboard just before Reagan was elected. Neo-cons were the boat people of the McGovern revolution, that was itself the social, cultural, and moral revolutions of the 1960's.
This was a movement founded on foreign policy, especially of the rising fear of the Soviet Union becoming a mortal threat to America and Israel after Soviet weapons were used to arm Israel's enemies during the Six-Day War. Their heroes are heroes of the Left: Wilson, FDR, Truman, Martin Luther King, Henry "Scoop" Jackson, Daniel Patrick Moyhnihan, and Hubert Humphrey. And yes many neo-cons are Jewish and come from the Trotskyist-Social Democratic Left. The neoconservatives all belong to a clique of foreign policy specialists, writers, and acedemics who see U.S. and Israeli interests as identical and are called "Washington's Likudniks."
The neoconservatives follow their old leader Trotsky in promoting a "world democratic revolution" and a "permanent revolution of democracy." Neoconservatives are also extremely hawkish and argue for revolution by force of arms. The Beltway Likud was plotting and propagandizing for a war on Iraq long before 9/11 going back all the way to the first Gulf War, when they thought Bush I should have taken down Saddam then. In 1998 Jeane Kirkpatrick, William Kristol, John Bolton, Robert Kagan, Charles Krauthammer, and Donald Rumsfeld all urged President Clinton to go to war against Iraq, an Israeli objective for quite a while.
Neoconservatives are also "Big Government Conservatives" and consider FDR to have been a great President, advising President Bush to push for a lot of the big spending projects under his watch. Also being leftist neo-cons have no problem whatsoever with the European ethnic core of America being drowned out by those from Mexico, even copying liberals by calling those who care racists, nativists, and xenophobes. And coming from the Left neo-cons also support free trade as well and decry "protectionism" and "protecting America's workers."
