  • I ask your prayers for the Rev. Father Paul Schoonbroodt, Belgian veteran priest. I have read that he has had a grave accident while returning from his travels in the context of his apostolate, and that he is now in the hospital.

Please ignore ALL of my posts. I was naive during my time posting on this forum and didn’t know any better. I retract and deeply regret any and all uncharitable or erroneous statements I ever made here.

  • It is possible that he is not considered gravely injured. Hopefully that is correct.

Thank you for praying for this priest. I have not met him yet, but he was a friend of Mgr. Lefebvre. He was ordained in 1958 and opposed the new liturgical practices when they were being set up in his diocese.

Recently he has made public that he has received two Eucharistic miracles (bleeding Hosts) in 1971, as a confirmation from Heaven that the resistance against the new order doctrines and practices is blessed by God.

  • I was blessed to spend a week on retreat in Steffeshausen, Belgium, where Father resides.  He is a class act in every respect.  Any further updates are greatly appreciated, Exile.

  • I have just read that he is doing fine, and that he got through the accident without grave injury. Deo gratias!

Thank you for your generous prayers. Let us continue to pray so that his health may be restored as quickly as God permits.

  • I see it has already been mentioned, but I thought it would be good to post the news in this thread as well.

Father Schoonbroodt, pillar of the Belgian church, has passed away. Let us pray for his soul. Earlier I already saw it mentioned that Father was not doing so well after all. I should have mentioned it here then. May God forgive me.

Rest in peace, chariot of the Belgians, and the driver thereof.

He's now beyond the reach of the FSSPX legal team.  RIP
