  • This should be an interesting discussion, given previous posts I have seen wrt black people in the past here.

Why did God create black people? It seems as though throughout many ages of history, all black people have been good for is killing each other, being intellectually inferior to whites, being enslaved by everyone and not doing anything for anyone in history. Why is that? Why do you think God created blacks as inferior human beings? Was it to be subservient to other races like the Jєωs, whites, etc.? I am black and can attest to the exceeding stupidity of many black folk I know. I don't think I know of any black Catholics who are trad, or even interested in traditionalism other than myself.

Why can I not find anything good about African history? The vast majority of Africa seems to be living in mud huts and performing pagan rituals. There are also far more saints of other races than there are black saints (I couldn't give you the name of even one black saint, honestly). Blacks have been at the heel of every single society and get kicked around and treated like nothing. But, is this for no reason? Why would God make black people if He knew they were going to suffer. Is there a racial hierarchy? Are whites spiritually superior to blacks? Was the KKK really so far off to persecute the blacks? (After all, look at us now!) Did Christ die for the human race or human races? How do modern blacks differ from animals? Are there many statistics on the innumerable amount of evils that the black race has committed against others? Are we blacks suffering the curse of Ham?

These are all questions I think that need answers. No longer shall we be left in the dark (this is not a pun) about this issue. I think it deserves answering.
For those who I have unjustly offended, please forgive me. Please disregard my posts where I lacked charity and you will see that I am actually a very nice person. Disregard my opinions on "NFP", "Baptism of Desire/Blood" and the changes made to the sacra

    Black / African Saints
The history of the Church is full of many black / African Catholic saints, who received recognition for great deeds or meritorious conduct. Many lost their lives in defense of the faith. Many were also honored for their contributions to the Church and their community.

    list of black Saints

One of the first conversion stories in the Book of Acts concerns a black man.  It teaches many important truths about the nature of faith:
    Quote
[26] Now an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying: Arise, go towards the south, to the way that goeth down from Jerusalem into Gaza: this is desert. [27] And rising up, he went. And behold a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch, of great authority under Candace the queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge over all her treasures, had come to Jerusalem to adore. [28] And he was returning, sitting in his chariot, and reading Isaias the prophet. [29] And the Spirit said to Philip: Go near, and join thyself to this chariot. [30] And Philip running thither, heard him reading the prophet Isaias. And he said: Thinkest thou that thou understandest what thou readest?

[31] Who said: And how can I, unless some man shew me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him. [32] And the place of the scripture which he was reading was this: He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb without voice before his shearer, so openeth he not his mouth. [33] In humility his judgment was taken away. His generation who shall declare, for his life shall be taken from the earth? [34] And the eunuch answering Philip, said: I beseech thee, of whom doth the prophet speak this? of himself, or of some other man? [35] Then Philip, opening his mouth, and beginning at this scripture, preached unto him Jesus.

[36] And as they went on their way, they came to a certain water; and the eunuch said: See, here is water: what doth hinder me from being baptized? [37] And Philip said: If thou believest with all thy heart, thou mayest. And he answering, said: I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. [38] And he commanded the chariot to stand still; and they went down into the water, both Philip and the eunuch: and he baptized him. [39] And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord took away Philip; and the eunuch saw him no more. And he went on his way rejoicing.

  • Bl Catherine Emmerich in her books The Life of Christ volume 1 speaks of the creation of the black race after the fall of Adam and eve.
It should be very enlightening to all of you.
She also speaks of the continuance of the black race after the great flood.

  • Daegus, all the negative things you say about blacks are true of people of every race.  All kill, enslave and behave foolishly.  All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.  All suffer the effects of originals sin.  It is incorrect to speak of an inferior race.

  • FWIW, God only created, properly speaking, two people.

FWIW2, I know some black trads...and am grateful to call them my friends.  What is more, a priest-friend of mine has gone to Africa and there are MANY who love him and appreciate his work and our Holy Faith.

FWIW3 =) ... blacks are not inferior human beings, nor are others to be taken as superior human beings.  Each branch of the ONE human race has its (generally-true) strengths.  Each is, IMO, meant to play its role according to its strength -- just as each member of our own individual beings plays a certain role and the members of a family play different roles.  While some roles are, in se, more 'noble', all are beautiful and necessary for the harmonious functioning of the whole.

The тαℓмυdic principles that have infected the formerly-Christian West are largely responsible for the irrational opposition that has pitted one race against another.  This is simply the supreme Adversary using his most faithful agents among men to sow discord among us all.

There is much more to be said, but I am off to the store to purchase some of the more noble achievements where celebratory libations are concerned :)

Given much of what I've read from even the trad world, one cannot help but feel inferior.

To be honest, I didn't create this thread because I'm convinced of everything that I wrote. I made this thread to see what people think about certain things. In a way, you could say that this topic is a "trap", but I did mean everything I said. Just not in the same way that you might have interpreted it...

  • Fr. Charles de Foucauld spoke about the great neglect of the colonial powers in the Christianization of Africa. They "brought the population into subjection, nothing more", were his words.

I am sure the black nations were among the most devoted children of Holy Mother the Church, if the Great Powers behaved differently, the white Church hierarchy would have remained intact longer (see the Lefebvre-case) and Vatican II would not have brought an end to effective missionary activity.

I have read the passage you are referring to, and that is not what she said. A. C. Emmerich adhered to the catholic truth that all human beings, black people included, descend from Adam and Eve.

Why did God create black people?

For the same reason all other rational persons were created: God loved them from all eternity freely and spontaneously so that, without any merit of their own, at the time and place He had determined, God endowed them with the existence, having predestined them to glory and grace, and endowed them with an immortal soul and a material body.

Whatever has happened in history which is evil and unjust (against any ethnic race, people, nation, &c.) proceeds from the wickedness of men, who have perverted their free will in order to turn away from their last end, God Himself. God allows this so that He may show the riches of His clemency and the might of His power: that from evil He may draw a greater good.

Interesting tangent: somewhere else I discussed the unity of the human race.

Attached is the pertinent article of Rev. Fr. Garrigou-Lagrange's textbook The Trinity and God the Creator: A Commentary on St. Thomas' Theological Summa, Ia, q. 27-119, ch. xliii. (trans. Rev. Fr. Frederic C. Eckhoff; St. Louis, MO: B. Herder Book Co., 1952).
Please ignore all that I have written regarding sedevacantism.

  • Personally, I don't think there's any inherent, substantive differences between members of different 'races' or ethnic groups. I know this is an old trope, but I think it really does boil down to cultural differences and environment. For instance, if you have a black child who was raised by a white, middle-class family, provided that that child doesn't become influenced by the 'gangsta' culture so prevalent in modern times, what you basically end up with is a 'white' person inside a black's body. That child will likely grow up with a greater appreciation for education and a desire to enter the professions. Depending on whether that family was Catholic, though, the child could have other problems, such as an over-attachment to material things (something common to people of all races), or a distorted view of sex and healthy relationships.

Anyway, my point is that race or ethnicity doesn't make any difference, but a person's upbringing and social environment clearly do. I know it can be disheartening when looking at the history of African peoples, but I don't believe that there's any sort of inherent 'defect' in black people or people of other races. Christ died for all of us, and I'm sure He has a plan for all of us, too. Only He knows the reasons why certain peoples have developed along a certain path, but I'm sure He has good reasons. The best thing would be to focus on the present and do our best to try to convert people of all races to the one true Faith.

  • Interesting you make this thread... I just finished watching a docuмentary called Bloods and Crips: Made in America.

It got to the heart of the matter about the history of modern black gangs today, specifically the notorious Bloods and Crips started in California, generally speaking. Slavery is quite an infectious evil that seems to continue to sow its seeds everywhere until Christ is everywhere by all parties involved. Racism and slavery have caused alot of BS, moral of story... I'm a firm conservative and not trying to sound cool by saying I have black friends, but I do, and its sad to see how many are taught they are "worthless". This is mainly done by the marxist/class-warfare harbingers that love to promote this lie, and other evils like pornography, genetically-modified food, abortion, and all the gamut following from the devil.

GV's view that all races are needed in God's master vision is similar to that of St. Therese of Lisieux about the field with all different flowers and plants synergistically being beautiful. I agree.
