“School Dazed”, Fr. Anthony Cekada, Monday, November 23, 2009

Quote:
What about some of the various stories circulated about your school?

When I asked a worried parishioner about specific charges, he referred me to the November 15 and 8 postings on Dr. Thomas Droleskey’s Christ or Chaos.

Here’s what I found: “tragic events,” “scandals,” actions “not tolerated,” “wrongdoing,” “suffering sheep,” “tarnished glories,” “shame,” “minimizing evils,” “mind games,” “problems,” “longstanding patterns of stonewalling,” “abuse of clerical authority,” “misrepresentation of the truth,” “sanctimoniousness,” etc.
No factual allegations, just gas — and I don’t mean the type that powers an RV.

The goofiest charge to surface against our school was the catch-all smear of “child abuse.” This can mean anything. We heard this accusation from parents when I was on Long Island in the 1980s. If a teacher raised her voice at a misbehaving child and the child complained to mom, “child abuse” could be solemnly intoned. It was generally uttered in close proximity to the phrase “My child never lies.”

“The Hate Whisperer”, Fr. Anthony Cekada, Wednesday, December 9, 2009

Quote:
Seek out all possible complaints, sympathize with them, encourage them, and then present yourself as the savior who could make everything right. Telephone, text, e-mail, visit, whisper, confer in the parking lot and multiply “spiritual direction.”

Let all past offenses committed in church, school and seminary — whether real, imagined, or just simple misunderstandings — be brought up in person and on the Internet, and then hurled perpetually at the targets. Make long, numbered lists of accusations. Circulate calumnies and vile insinuations. [Laypopes.com?  oh, did you just forget to include that in your condemnation of "Hate Whispering"]

Camouflage a campaign of hate in a cloak of virtue: Save the children! Prevent child abuse! Transparency! Expose evil!

Where there was once a half-forgotten injury, sow — not love or pardon — but hatred. Where there was confidence, sow doubt and suspicion. And where there was peace, sow war.

So on Nov. 23 the complaint was "No factual allegations, just gas" ... then on Dec. 9 the complaint is "Make long, numbered lists of accusations". Never mind that neither he nor Bp. Dolan has answered any of these specific allegations.

It looks like the Bishop and artiste are just making it up as they go.

I'll also remind Bp. Dolan and Fr. Cekada that they are reaping what they have sown.

It seems that any criticism of SGG is now considered a "hate crime".

The above garbage is why that I do not think that I can go against the sspx any longer and defend the sede camp.

Your effectively sectarian attitude is part of the problem. Catholics do not "belong" to any of these groups. You needn't "choose a side". All need to be held accountable.

At least he didn't contradict himself on the very next line of his letter of 11/23, eh?  LOL!

AC was not exactly sowing peace/pardon/love when it was posted on the bulletin board that, if anyone saw me on the SGG property, they should call the Police.

DD made it crystal clear in his Midnight Mass sermon that the he saw it as a war -- and AC's public email of 12.27.08 certainly treated me an an enemy, one upon whom he had NO MERCY.  Well, AC, you are reaping what you have sown.  I understand you do not like it, but reap it you will.

That is a different kettle of fish, albeit one for which you have already started a separate thread (which is good).

Since I’ve gotten a number of inquiries about the current situation in our West Chester, Ohio parish, I decided to blog some of my thoughts here on Quidlibet. Below you can find “School Dazed,” the longer article I wrote on the subject last month.

School Dazed didn't get the job done, eh Padre? :laugh1:

He JUST wrote "School Dazed" (11.23.09), yet feels the need to come out with ANOTHER piece that says the same thing?  I thought repetition was the (pathetic?) smear tactic of his adversaries?

Or, put another way, bully the sheep, pretending that it comes from your tender solicitude for their welfare -- something the entire world knows you do not possess...

Fr C, are you reading this out of the same textbook of character assassination that you used as your guide when composing your email of 12.27.08?

You called me "mentally ill", made a list of "proofs", kept it vague (now treating one "proof" as prophetic genius that could have save the day), circulated it to others who could never have a need to know what you told them, etc.  You do ALL the things you claim others do -- and people SEE this, Padre.  Lie, as I know you must.  At this stage, you cannot help it.

BTW, Mr. Gebel is on his way here this very morning.  Perhaps you would like to stop by after your classes are over in Brooksville/Spring Lake?  I feel certain the three of us could have quite an interesting meeting.

Wingate Group Hate, Fr. Anthony Cekada, Dec. 9

Quote:
And during the social hour after Mass, or in the hotel lobby or the parking lot, well, there are plenty of opportunities to do more good deeds with like-minded Catholics: Recount old offenses, pass along old insinuations, invent new ones, denounce favorite targets and, above all, reinforce everyone’s solidarity against the common enemy.

Since it’s all for a righteous common cause — “truth,” “the people,” “justice for the children” — it can’t really be grudges and hate, tale-bearing and calumny, can it?

Can it?

Thus the power of group hate. It blinds the consciences of otherwise devout Catholics to the hatred that calls itself justice, and to the evil deed that masquerades as the good.

So if not all of the criticism is valid, then ALL of it is invalid. Is that what you're saying Padre?

Are you also saying that because you can't answer all of the accusations, you can't answer any of them?

So you just dismiss it all as "hate speech". We'll wait for your next blog entry.

You must like reruns.

Btw, the date on "Wingate Hate Group" blog entry should be Dec. 10th, not Dec. 9th.
