One of the most depressing things on the face of the planet is job hunting. When I go on websites where I can apply for jobs, I read all the qualifications you are supposed to have (the list goes on and on) and then you read what the salary is, and its like 10 bucks and hour. Who do these slave drivers think they are. I use to attend a Byzantine liturgy (liturgy of St. John Chrysostom) and the priest one day gave a sermon on how the american workplace is going the way of slavery. According to him, only people who are very intelligent can get good jobs to support their families. I agree with him. I see others getting rich around me, with no care of those who suffer. Many of our good paying jobs have been sent over seas. The rich get richer and the poor are getting to the point of sustenance wages. Yet, right now, at least we are not starving, like the poor in other countries.

When my husband needed a job, we made a total consecration to OUr Lady. It is a book of prayers and rosary that last 30 days. We did this and my husband had a job. He went from aircraft mechanic to pharmacy tech and taught on the job(and that was 20 years ago) but Our lady came through! At the end of the consecration, he had the job! And I will ask my great-great Uncle Fr. Rudolph Stoltz to pray for you! He was a priest of the precious Blood society. He has come through for me a few times!

My experience (from quite some time ago) was that the websites specializing in job listings offer the most depressing ones to read.
When you've had a look at what such websites have to offer in your area, move on to more traditional options. Try your local paper, but don't stop there. Think of a few places around you where you might be a good fit and call to see if they have openings. If they're big enough, openings will be listed on their own website before they pay money to list it elsewhere.
If your skills match the needs of a very small business, just call and ask as they'll likely "need" help for awhile before the boss gets around to actually taking out an ad and doing interviews. You never know when you'll hit a sweet spot.
