  • It's great to finally see the Feeneyite heresy come to an end after all these years. What a catastrophe! How do we know it is finally extinguished? Here are some obvious signs:

    - For one, activity in this sub-forum has been drying up. The primary activity remaining is people bickering about individual quotes - as if that matters with the amount of magisterial support for the doctrine available. If you are still bothering to sling quotes back and forth, you are simply a novice and you are completely missing the boat.

    - The website baptismofdesire.com has now been online for 4 years. If you look at their News page, they have openly challenged many of the most rabid opposers of baptism of desire to read their homepage and let them know where it is an error. They have ALL been silent for the last 4 years. That says it all. In addition, that site has received just as many conceding to the doctrine as those challenging it.

    - Overall there have been no solid arguments over the years - just the same old beating of the dead horse from people trying to interpret what it all means on their own, instead of listening to the ordinary magisterium. Even 400 years after the Protestant revolt, they still fall into the same old trap of self interpretation. Pretty sad.

Great to see this finally extinguished after all these years! Time to focus on real Catholicism...

There is no such thing as baptism of desire.  Proof is found in one sentence in the docuмents of Trent.  It is impossible to read Trent in a way that supports baptism of desire.  Both water of regeneration and desire are necessary for salvation.  I have never been associated with Fr. Feeney or the Benedict Center, so whatever Feeneyism is, I am not of that group. I just know what the Church teaches and baptism of desire is an evolving extrapolation that denies Catholic teaching.

You came on here for a while and put your ignorance and theological ineptitude on display.  You were destroyed, put to shame, and forced to turn tail.

Now you return to make the gratuitous assertion that you have refuted all arguments.

It's difficult to believe that you're serious.

LoT, you do have an incredible ego.

  • A true Catholic should celebrate the Sacraments while they despise the non-baptism bod designed by Satan to undermine and destroy the Sacrament of Baptism.

  • Bosco's just trolling.

Bosco, spending too much time playing video games and trolling the web in your mother's basement does things to you.  You should go find a job or something.

  • Bosco recently condemned Pope Francis for believing that Muslims and Jєωs can be saved. And now he is condemning Feeneyites for believing Muslims and Jєωs can not be saved.

Please pray for the repose of my soul.

This website has some treatment plans for your delusional disorder, I hope they help.

If anything more people are waking up to the Cushingite Heresy.  Just recently rotate Caeli had a post from the St Benedict Center on Justification.  I hear more and more priests who teach that baptism is necessary for all souls for salvation, no exceptions.

"In its proper meaning, this consists of an act of perfect contrition or perfect love [that is Charity, which necessarily implies that one has the True Faith], and the simultaneous desire for baptism. It does not imprint an indelible character on the soul and the obligation to receive Baptism by water remains." (From page 126 of The Catholic Concise Encyclopedia , by Robert Broderick, M.A., copyright 1957, Imprimatur by Francis Cardinal Spellman, Archbishop of New York, August 31, 1956)

Hmmm, several dogmatic defintions of EENS and Trent's definition that the SACRAMENT of Baptism is necessary for salvation.  Obey the Church I will.

As for the likely fake SH docuмent to which you refer, it's not even "authentic" since it doesn't appear in AAS.

Canon Law states that docuмents don't have to appear in the AAS:

Canon Law 9, "Laws laid down by the Apostolic See are promulgated by publication in the official commentary Acta Apostolicae Sedis [Acts of the Apostolic See], unless in particular cases another mode of promulgation has been prescribed."

So now the question for you becomes why was this so-called "fake" letter from the Holy Office (which clearly stated it was approved by Pope Pius XII) printed in Catholic journals across the world in 1953? And why did Pope Pius XII say nothing about this so-called "fake"?
